Design
A while back I was asked, with several other local designers, to judge a design contest for an internet business startup. This sparked a lot of discussion about, what, exactly, is "good design?" I believe design is most successful when it: addresses the purpose of the content, is interesting to look at, makes the viewer want to know more, is easy to understand (navigation and layout), and is appropriate for the content.
