Ellen and I recently participated in a show for the Arlington Heights Historical Society. The assignment was to depict/interpret either the oldest house in town or the old Vail Tavern.
This is my contribution. An imagined night of Dancing at the Vail Tavern in 1944. The style I chose is an homage to Thomas Hart Benton, one of my favorite muralists from the Great Depression.
It still needs a coat of varnish.
